Electronics Team Manager: Steven Collins
Steven started adult life as a semi-professional musician and has since graduated from Glyndwr
University after reading for a Sound and Broadcast degree. He currently is employed by MKS
Instruments. He is applying his knowledge to the electronic design and construction for the solar
car.

Beth graduated from Glyndwr University in 2011 after reading for a degree in Sustainable
Energy. She now works for one of our partners Kronospan.

Chief Mechanical Design Engineer: Tom Boddington
Having recently graduated in Performance Car Technology from Glyndwr University, Tom is now working
at Polybush as a design engineer, under a KTP programme.
Welsh Media Communications Officer: Ynyr Lloyd
Ynyr is a second year electronics student at Glyndwr University.
Solar Array and MPPT Technology: Siva Kimar Valluru
Following completion of his MSc Kimar is continuing to work with the team, looking after the power
point trackers. Kimar did his MSc project looking at novel designs for MPPTs.
TECHNOLOGY
Engineer: Graham Sparey-Taylor
Graham started the solar car team back in 2006 with a view to testing STEM subjects within the
borders of Wales. Graham’s passion for his research into electric vehicle technology has led him to embrace
schools’ work, stepping down from his team manager role to run fun hands on workshops for the generation
of tomorrow.
Web designer: Rebecca Sparey-Taylor
One of the original team members, Rebecca was one of the drivers in the Panasonic World Solar Challenge 2007.
A neuroscientist by degree, but a software engineer by trade, she currently works in Student Data Services
at Glyndwr University.
